Why this workshop?

Two-thirds of drivers responding to our survey believe upfront cost still presents the biggest barrier to owning an EV, and with the majority of EV drivers being on higher incomes, access to affordable electric vehicles remains a key barrier for many, particularly those on low and middle incomes.

Higher upfront costs, limited access to low-cost public charging for people without off-street parking, and uncertainty about the true cost of owning an EV continue to hold drivers back, even where electric vehicles could meet their everyday needs.

This 90-minute session will share insights from a new report carried out by Cambridge Econometrics on behalf of Transport & Environment and EVA England, exploring how access to EVs for lower and middle-income families could be improved.

The workshop will combine headline findings with open discussion, giving you the opportunity to share your experiences and views. It will provide a backdrop for the following day’s workshop on creating the right conditions for a used EV market to thrive.
