In November, the Government announced plans to consult on introducing a new mileage-based charge for electric vehicles, known as eVED, to be introduced in April 2028.
As EV adoption grows and fuel duty revenues decline, decisions about how drivers contribute to the road network are moving up the policy agenda. If eVED goes ahead, from April 2028, full battery electric vehicle drivers will need to pay 3p per mile, and plug-in hybrid drivers, 1.5p per mile.
How eVED is designed could influence affordability, purchasing decisions, and confidence in switching to electric.
This session will give members the opportunity to hear directly from HM Treasury about:
This is a chance for EVA England members to hear first hand from those designing the eVED scheme and put their views directly to them on what you think of it. As always, EVA England will use what we hear to inform our engagement with Government and ensure drivers’ voices are properly represented.
And if you haven’t yet, please take a few minutes to fill out our eVED survey.
