Confidence in electric vehicles is growing, with more drivers making the switch each year.
But, looking ahead, there is still work to do to ensure driving electric is a seamless, affordable and enjoyable experience for all of us: to make sure the used car market is stable and affordable; to bring down the costs of public charging; and to improve the often frustrating experience we all have at public chargepoints – be that reliability, accessibility or payment processes.
That’s why we’re launching a new EVA England member workshop series, starting next Friday, with a session focused on tackling EV misinformation.
59% of drivers responding to our EVA England surveys still believe misinformation is playing a substantial role in holding back the transition to electric driving, shaping public opinion and influencing policy debates in ways that do not reflect drivers’ real experiences or the evidence.
From misleading headlines to recycled myths on cost, charging and safety, these narratives slow down the transition to electric and undermine confidence among current and prospective drivers.
This 90-minute session will combine insights from from Tanya Sinclair (Electric Vehicles UK) and Colin Walker (Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit) with practical discussion, equipping participants with tools and approaches they can use in their day-to-day life.
The session will also help shape EVA England’s forthcoming drivers’ strategy, grounding it in members’ experiences and priorities.
