Meet our team

Dr Vicky Edmonds

CEO

Vicky joined as CEO of EVA England in January 2025. Sbrings with her a deep understanding of the EV landscape and EV policy, having been at the forefront of Government net zero and transport policy for nearly two decades. This includes three years as the Head of the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (now OZEV), where she led the Government’s development of its 2030 phase out policy formalising a cut-off date for the sale of new petrol and diesel cars. Other headline projects Vicky has led on include the £950m Rapid Charging Fund and the Local EV Infrastructure Fund, which are currently driving the expansion of essential national charging infrastructure.

Most importantly, Vicky is a passionate EV driver. She bought her first EV six years ago and currently owns two quite different electric cars, the BMW i3 and Polestar 2, offering her a range of perspectives as EV options rapidly diversify in the UK to cater for different needs. Her insights as an EV driver have directly fed into her work driving national EV policy. Additionally, Vicky personally worked on key pieces of EV legislation, including the 2018 Automated Electric Vehicles Act providing the foundation for much of the UK’s existing EV chargepoint regulation. She also spent time as a policy advisor to the Energy Systems Catapult, integrating the rollout of EVs into its wider work on decarbonising the energy system.

Vicky is the proud mother of two daughters and enjoys spending time with them, her husband and their dog. She is also a keen open water swimmer.

Sandrine Vaconnet

Marketing and Membership Manager

Sandrine joined EVA England in February 2023.

She has a background in applied arts and has been working in the charity sector for over 10 years.

More recently, she worked at the Climate Group, an international NGO that works with businesses and governments to address climate change, where she got to learn all about EVs.

She is a pastry connoisseur (having grown up in France helps!) and is an avid plant and nature lover.

Meet our Board

Our Board of Directors consists of passionate electric vehicle champions who bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to EVA England.

Made up entirely of volunteers from various backgrounds and localities, they are unified by a vision to accelerate the transition to an electric England.

Warren Philips

Chair of the Board

Warren is a renewables and EV advocate, and his home has been featured both online and in print after he eco-transformed it, going from an EPC D to an EPC A rating. He opens his home to the public to show what can be done in the average UK house.

Soon after getting his first EV in 2015, Warren joined the Sussex EV Group and went on to become a founding member of EV Groups Nexus, the online network of UK EV drivers’ clubs. His passion for a sustainable future and his involvement in local and national EV groups led him to co-founding EVA England – to voice EV driver needs and accelerate the transition to zero emission transport.

With a background in technology and lived experience supporting family members who used wheelchairs, Warren is a passionate advocate for accessible and equitable transport.

Aseer Khalid

Aseer is a Technical Sales Engineer at STMicroelectronics, one of the largest semiconductor manufacturers in the world, where he’s been supporting development projects in the field of electrification for UK & Irish companies across various markets from Automotive, Off-highway and Aviation since 2017. He has prior experience working in aerospace.

Aseer lives in Oxfordshire and has been actively embracing electric vehicles since February 2020 (a Tesla Model 3 since 2023, previously a Mark 1 MGZSEV for 3 years). He averages 25,000 miles annually while combining personal and professional use in his technical sales role.

Gill Nowell

Gill Nowell, Associate Consultant for Zemo Partnership, is widely recognised as a leading e-mobility market specialist and has dedicated years to pioneering EV-grid integration projects and data-driven innovation.

A regular speaker and panellist on EVs and the move to a low-carbon, sustainable world, Gill has been a keen advocate for the uptake of electric cars since 2012.

Personally, and professionally, she’s fuelled by the pressing need to move to cleaner forms of transport. Gill co-founded EVA England during the 2020 lockdown. Amongst her many decarbonisation projects, she also founded EVclicks, a free online EV image library for use by anyone in aid of the transition to zero-emission transport.

Voted as one of the Top 50 Women in Engineering: Sustainability in 2020, winner of the Women in Insurance Trailblazer Award 2022, and one of the GreenFleet 100 Most Influential 2024, she is also a keen runner, and a proud mum.

Lauren Pamma

From 2020 to 2024 Lauren led the Green Finance Institute’s Coalition for the Decarbonisation of Transport, which focused on developing new financial products and solutions to help accelerate the decarbonisation of transport. In June 2024 Lauren joined Aldermore Bank to establish and lead a new Renewable Energy & Infrastructure team.

Prior to joining the GFI, Lauren’s career at Lloyds Banking Group spanned 16 years and saw her hold a number of finance, strategy and commercial roles, primarily within the asset finance division. Most recently she led the electrification agenda for Lex Autolease, identifying ways to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles.

Lauren holds a BSc in Zoology from Liverpool University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.

Maz Shar

Mazhar Shar has a background in Computer Science and AI working for the likes of Dyson and Ocado on cutting edge technology – from smart home tech and VR to robotics.

By day, Maz is an AI Engineering Manager focusing on making robots perceive their environment better. He believes technology, when used responsibly, can transform society and play a crucial role in fighting climate change and building a more sustainable future.

Maz started driving an EV in 2019 where he spent his first 40,000 miles relying on public charging. During this time, Maz has built a social media presence as EpicWinningMaz, using data to push for better EV adoption and charging infrastructure.

Maz has volunteered with EVA England for a number of years, helping shape The Public Charge Point Regulations 2023 and creating the first version of EV Constituency Dashboard, holding them accountable for progress.
