The partnership will give EVA England members access to ClearWatt’s proprietary technology to test EV battery health and performance, along with a number of additional data points designed to instil confidence.
ClearWatt’s EV Health Test enables both consumers and businesses to evaluate real-world battery range using only a smartphone and the ClearWatt mobile app. The app collects real-time performance data and combines it with over 50 supplementary data points, delivering a detailed and user-friendly report. This includes insights into home and public charging costs, the impact of alloy wheel specifications on range, tax and exemption data, and much more.

The UK’s second-hand EV market has grown rapidly over the past few years, with EVs reaching the end of leases and entering the marketplace at unprecedented scale. 2024 saw a 57.4% increase in the number of used EVs acquired by businesses and consumers. However, second-hand models have faced issues arising from a lack of standardisation and transparency across the pool of available cars, leading to low residual values and confidence in the market.
By partnering with EVA England, ClearWatt aims to help improve confidence levels among the public, in turn helping the used EV market to mature and grow.
Patrick Cresswell, Co-Founder and Managing Director of ClearWatt, commented:
“We’re proud to be joining EVA England as a partner. They are a powerful voice for EV drivers across key stakeholders including central government, and we share the same mission: to make electric vehicle ownership simpler, smarter, and more transparent.
“Battery health and uncertainty about EV performance remain some of the most important – and misunderstood – factors in used EV buying. By working together, we can give drivers the clarity and confidence they need to make better decisions and accelerate the shift to electric.”
Dr. Vicky Edmonds, CEO of EVA England, commented:
“We hear time and again from drivers that battery uncertainty is one of the biggest barriers to buying a used EV. Our partnership with ClearWatt will help tackle that head-on, giving consumers the information they need to make confident, informed decisions.
“Their transparent, data-led approach is exactly what the market needs, and we’re proud to be working alongside them to help give drivers greater confidence in second-hand EVs.”
To celebrate the launch of this new partnership, ClearWatt is offering EVA England members an exclusive 50% off all their products until the end of July. This includes the EV Health Test (allowing you to test the performance and battery health of your car using just the ClearWatt app) and EV Check Plus (which provides a detailed factsheet about any EV on the road without the need to test the car).
